Cheshire Railway Modellers, as an on-line model railway club, is not intended to be a replacement for membership of a conventional model club but is a complement to such membership. We aim to share ideas and advice just as a conventional club would, but we are not confined to certain nights of the week for meetings - the internet is always open!

help and encourage members in their modelling and general railway

Other Model Railway Groups with whom we have contact.
The Group meets regularly at Staveley, Chesterfield, on a social basis to build and operate model railways and to foster interest in railways in general. A friendly bunch, and adventurous, as they are the first Group to invite us to exhibit Attam Bank at their Bakewell show in 2009. |
National Model Railway Societies and Associations
[DOGA] The Double O Gauge Association |
THE organisation catering for both new and
veteran railway modellers working in 4mm scale using a track gauge of
16.5mm - the most common for models of UK prototypes. Useful magazine,
and email discussion list (join from website). Our Secretary is a
member, and we are following the DOGA track and wheel standards on
Atttam Bank. |
The EMGS is the largest of the Model Railway Societies catering for the needs of modellers in 4mm fine scale railway modelling.
The Historical Model Railway Society |
The Society is one of the definitive sources of information on Britain's long and varied railway history, from the very beginning to the present day. It gathers, stores, and widely distributes historical railway information, thereby providing you with all the vital information you need to build historically accurate models. |
The Model Electonic Railway Group |
Founded in the early 1960s, the Group’s aim is to actively promote and advance the use of electronic and computer technology for model railway operation. We use all MERG kits (self-assembled) for our DCC layout. |
The Tri-ang Society is for people interested in the products of the Lines Bros Lt d, who with a long-running tradition of producing toys, added plastic moulded trains to their range after WWII - the website gives a fuller history. |
It's a group of people who like railways, and who enjoy meeting to find out yet more about railways. They have a varied programme: at some meetings there is a speaker with slides or video; other meetings are informal, with short contributions from members.
A UK based non-profit making organisation for enthusiasts, historians, modellers and preservationists of the largest third rail electric railway system in the world.
The group is formed for discussion by email over the internet between Railway Enthusiasts, Historians and Modellers interested in the Southern Railway of the United Kingdom (including those railway companies that were merged together to form it and those that succeeded it).
The Group was formed over 30 years ago to study and disseminate information about the Southern Railway, British Railways (Southern Region), its successors and minor railways in southern England. Publications include data sheets, a bi_monthly newsletter, and a quarterly magazine.
